On January 30, 2015, Horizon Science Academy Cincinnati held their school Science Fair. Parents, siblings, teachers, students, support staff and administration visited the Gym to see around 40 hard- working students present their science fair projects. Students were enthralled by the dedication that went into their peers’ projects and spent the time they had down in the Gym asking questions and watching demonstrations. Congratulations to Ms. Blaznek and the science department for their time and dedication. There were several informative presentations at the Horizon Science Academy Cincinnati 2015 Science Fair. Nariyah McClain and Vincent Taylor from HSA Cincy high school showed just how amazing they are at science by demonstrating their projects multiple times for both adults and students. The students were excited when they presented their experiment to the judges, and the information learned by the judges was inspiring…We now know why colored candles burn more rapidly and if a car battery dies, it is best to use a lemon rather than an orange. The students did a wonderful job and we are truly proud of their hard work!! A special thanks to Mr. Munz and Mrs. MacMillan for judging purposes!!! Also, thank you to Ms. Williams, Mr. Beyhan and Mr. Adem and their students for their hard work. Horizon Science Academy Cincinnati staff are proud to see that many students have some understanding of formulating a hypothesis, asking a research question and following the scientific methodology in their projects. Students learn many more skills in a multi-dimensional project than in most other forms of learning…thanks for all you do! The next step for the winning students from each grade level will be the Consef Science Fair in Cleveland on Saturday, April 18, 2015. They will be presenting their projects again for the judges and will be able to see other projects from peers around the Midwest. Wish them luck!
